I Job Summary We are looking for a caring, patient, and enthusiastic 2-Year-Old Teacher to provide a safe, nurturing, and engaging learning environment for young children during this important stage of development. The ideal candidate will foster social, emotional, cognitive, language, and physical growth through age-appropriate activities, play-based learning, and positive interactions. A successful teacher will build trusting relationships with children and families while encouraging curiosity, independence, and a love for learning. Responsibilities Plan and implement developmentally appropriate lesson plans and activities for 2-year-old children. Create a warm, safe, and nurturing classroom environment that supports each child's growth and development. Encourage language development through songs, stories, conversations, and interactive play. Promote social-emotional development by teaching sharing, cooperation, self-help skills, and positive behavior. Supervise children during classroom activities, outdoor play, meals, nap time, and transitions to ensure their safety at all times. Assist children with toileting, handwashing, feeding, and other daily care routines as needed. Observe and document each child's developmental progress and communicate updates with parents. Build positive relationships with families through regular communication and parent conferences. Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary classroom in accordance with health and safety regulations. Collaborate with administrators and fellow teachers to ensure a positive learning environment. Follow all licensing requirements, school policies, and DCF regulations. Attend required staff meetings, trainings, and professional development opportunities. Skills Experience working with toddlers (ages 2-3 years). Understanding of child development and age-appropriate learning practices for toddlers. Ability to create engaging, hands-on learning experiences through play. Strong classroom management and positive behavior guidance techniques. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Patient, dependable, energetic, and nurturing personality. Ability to multitask while maintaining a safe and positive classroom environment. Knowledge of health, safety, and sanitation standards for early childhood classrooms. Qualifications High School Diploma or equivalent required. DCF 45 Hours completed. CDA or AA/BA in Early Childhood Education or a related field preferred. Minimum of two years of experience working with toddlers or young children in a licensed childcare or preschool setting. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Current Pediatric CPR and First Aid Certification (or willingness to obtain). Ability to meet the physical demands of caring for toddlers, including lifting, bending, sitting on the floor, and actively engaging in classroom activities.
