Position Summary BITS Preparatory Academy is seeking a passionate and dedicated VPK Teacher to lead our Voluntary Prekindergarten classroom. The ideal candidate will create a safe, structured, and engaging learning environment that promotes kindergarten readiness while supporting each child's social, emotional, cognitive, and physical development. Responsibilities Plan and implement developmentally appropriate lessons aligned with Florida Early Learning Standards. Create a positive, inclusive, and engaging classroom environment. Foster children's social, emotional, language, and cognitive development. Conduct ongoing observations and assessments to monitor student progress. Maintain accurate records and documentation required by VPK and licensing regulations. Communicate effectively with families regarding student progress, classroom activities, and developmental milestones. Collaborate with administrators, support staff, and families to ensure student success. Maintain classroom cleanliness, organization, and safety standards. Participate in staff meetings, professional development, and training opportunities. Support children with varying learning needs through individualized instruction and accommodations when appropriate.
Qualifications Required:
Florida VPK Credential (FCCPC, National CDA, or equivalent qualifying credential) 45 DCF Hours completed Current CPR and First Aid Certification (or willingness to obtain) Background screening clearance Experience working with preschool-aged children Strong classroom management and communication skills
Preferred:
Associate's or Bachelor's Degree in Early Childhood Education or related field Experience in inclusive classrooms Knowledge of child development and early childhood best practices Skills & Abilities Positive and nurturing attitude Strong organizational and time management skills Ability to work collaboratively with a team Excellent communication with children, families, and staff Passion for early childhood education and child development Benefits Paid holidays Paid time off Professional development opportunities Supportive and collaborative work environment Opportunity to make a meaningful impact in children's lives
