Job Overview We are a faith based preschool in Indialantic FL with and extended day program until 6pm. We are seeking a dedicated and energetic substitute who loves working with children 18mths -2 years old to join our team. In this vital role, you will create a safe, nurturing, and engaging environment for children while filling in for teachers, fostering their social, emotional, and developmental growth. Responsibilities Supervise children during Morning/afterschool hours, ensuring their safety and well-being at all times Implement engaging educational activities that promote learning, creativity, and social skills Manage classroom behavior using positive reinforcement techniques and effective behavior management strategies Coordinate outdoor play, sports, or recreational activities to encourage physical development and teamwork Maintain clear communication with parents and guardians regarding children's progress and any concerns Ensure compliance with mandated reporting laws and maintain accurate documentation of incidents or concerns Collaborate with colleagues on curriculum development, special education needs, early intervention strategies, and classroom activities Light cleaning of classroom upon closing Comforting children during rest and naptime. Skills Strong knowledge of child development principles and early childhood education best practices Experience working with children in daycare, preschool, or private school settings Proficiency in curriculum development, lesson planning, and classroom management techniques Ability to communicate effectively with children, parents, staff, and community partners Familiarity with behavior management strategies and special education accommodations Knowledge of first aid and CPR certification to ensure child safety at all times Experience teaching physical education or integrating movement into daily routines is a plus Understanding of childhood welfare policies, mandated reporting laws, and child protection standards Ability to work collaboratively within a team while maintaining a positive attitude toward continuous learning Applicant must : Pass a background check Be 18 or older Be fingerprinted through Clearinghouse Portal (or willing to be upon employment) Have a positive demeanor Be patient and calm with children Available to work 5 days per week Monday- Friday, 8:00-3:30 (usually only around 9/10 children) Have DCF 45 hours, or willing to begin upon employment We are seeking a positive, reliable, and creative person to join our team and work in a positive, loving environment.

Pay:

$16.00 - $17.00 per hour Expected hours: 35.0 - 38.0 per week
