Job Description

Wesley House Family Services is a nationally accredited not-for-profit organization dedicated to protecting and nurturing children and strengthening families with services spanning Monroe County, Florida. Social services provided by WHFS include: Full case management, Intensive preservation services, Enhanced-in-home services, Intensive family reunification services, Prevention & intervention services, Foster care & adoption services, Health families Monroe and Inez martin child development center. Assistant Child Care Director will be doing- Ability to complete required DCF training (on-line and in-person). Providing administrative support to program operations.
Administrative Operations:
Provide administrative support and ensure accurate, timely entry of attendance, billing, scholarship, and meal-count information in ProCare, ELC, Paycom, and other required systems. Ensures compliance with federal, state and local laws, including Florida Statue 65C-22 and the Florida Abuse Hotline as well as all WHFS policies and procedures. Assuring the development, use and evaluation of lesson plans in the philosophy of the Creative Curriculum. Providing training and support to teachers while maintaining a learning environment that always protects children's health and safety through mentoring, modeling and constructive feedback. Providing training and support to teachers conducting developmental screenings for children using Ages & Stages, or another developmental screener. Completing the Ages and Stages Screening and other screenings or assessments in an accurate and timely manner. Support families' involvement in this process. Purchasing supplies, materials, and food products in keeping within the budget and earned revenue. Developing an atmosphere of support in the local community for the Program Hiring, training and supervision of staff Maintaining the records on all children enrolled in the Program. Participating in Office of Early Learning and/or Early Learning Coalition pilot projects. Maintaining contract compliance and accreditation status Budget Development and oversight Assist in the input of required information for ProCare and ELC database. Such information may include but is not limited to attendance records, school billing, scholarship information and SOS daily meal counts. Must be willing to support classroom operations by assisting in classrooms as needed to ensure compliance, with required ratios, maintain quality care and support the needs of children and staff. Comply with Wesley House Personnel and finance policies, Ethical Standards and Wesley House Confidentiality requirements Perform all activities, job duties and responsibilities and functions in an accurate and efficient manner with respect and appreciation for the culture, traditions, languages and practices of the people served Follow the guidelines regarding the reporting of unethical actions or practices as outlined in the Wesley House Family Services Personnel Manual Responsible for supporting recruitment and enrollment initiatives, including representing the program at Job Fairs, community events, and outreach opportunities to attract qualified teaching staff and prospective families Participating in training and professional development as required Wesley House Family Services assets are safeguarded and used according to agency policies and procedures Perform other duties as assigned The successful Assistant Site Director candidate will have- Minimum education requirement is an Associate's degree in Early Childhood or a related field with 2 or more years of childcare center experience preferably as a Lead teacher. Must have a current Staff Credential or willing to obtain upon hire. Thorough knowledge of early childhood curriculum, best practices, support services and community resources. Understanding of contract compliance and reporting requirements Broad-based knowledge of a high-quality childcare program.
