Position Summary The Preschool Teacher is responsible for providing a safe, nurturing, and engaging classroom environment where children can develop socially, emotionally, academically, and physically through purposeful play, hands-on activities, and age-appropriate learning experiences. Responsibilities Plan and implement engaging, developmentally appropriate lesson plans. Provide learning experiences aligned with the Florida Early Learning and Developmental Standards . Maintain a safe, positive, welcoming, and organized classroom. Use positive guidance and effective classroom management strategies. Encourage independence, confidence, creativity, communication, and problem-solving skills. Create meaningful activities that support children's development and prepare them for their next stage of learning. Observe children's development and document their progress. Build positive and professional relationships with children and families. Maintain classroom cleanliness, organization, and learning materials. Follow all DCF licensing, health, safety, and center policies and procedures . Work cooperatively with other teachers and the leadership team. Participate in staff meetings, trainings, professional development, and school events. Help create a classroom where every child feels safe, loved, respected, included, and capable of succeeding . Qualifications CDA, FCCPC, Associate Degree in Early Childhood Education, or another qualifying early childhood credential preferred. Previous experience working with preschool-aged children preferred. Knowledge of developmentally appropriate practices for 4-year-old children. Strong classroom management skills. Good communication and teamwork skills. Reliable, responsible, and professional. Ability to plan creative and engaging learning experiences. Willingness to continue learning and growing professionally.
