The ideal candidate has a passion for working with young children, understands toddler development, and values collaboration with a co-teacher to create a safe, engaging, and developmentally appropriate learning environment. Key Responsibilities Implement and follow age-appropriate curriculum that supports toddlers' social, emotional, physical, cognitive, and language development Work collaboratively with a co-teacher to plan, organize, and maintain a consistent daily classroom routine Create a warm, loving, and structured classroom environment that promotes learning through play and exploration Supervise children at all times to ensure their health, safety, and well-being Maintain classroom cleanliness and organization in accordance with DCF licensing and health standards Observe and document children's development and milestones as required Communicate professionally and respectfully with parents regarding their child's daily activities, needs, and progress Assist with diapering, potty training, feeding, and nap routines while maintaining proper sanitation practices Model positive behavior guidance strategies and support children in developing self-help and social skills Participate in staff meetings, trainings, and professional development opportunities Follow all center policies, procedures, and state regulations Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent (required) CDA, Early Childhood Education coursework, or experience working with toddlers (preferred) Knowledge of developmentally appropriate practices for toddlers Ability to work effectively as part of a team and communicate clearly with co-teachers and leadership CPR/First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain) Must pass background screening per DCF requirements Reliable, punctual, and professional Skills & Attributes Patient, nurturing, and energetic Strong classroom management and organizational skills Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment Passion for early childhood education and child development Positive attitude and strong work ethic
