Part-Time Childcare Float / Closing Substitute Teacher Jelly Bean Junction Early Learning Center - Melbourne, FL Part-Time | Monday-Friday | Year-Round Jelly Bean Junction is looking for a dependable, energetic, and caring Part-Time Float / Closing Substitute Teacher to join our team! This position is ideal for someone looking for consistent afternoon hours in a childcare setting. You will float between classrooms as teachers leave for the day, helping maintain safe, happy classrooms and ensuring each room is properly closed and ready for the following morning. Available Schedule Candidates must be available Monday through Friday, year-round for one of the following schedules: 1:00 PM-6:00 PM 3:00 PM-6:00 PM This is a consistent five-day-per-week position. Reliability and dependable attendance are extremely important. What You'll Do As an afternoon float/closing teacher, you will: Relieve classroom teachers as they leave for the evening Float between classrooms and work with children of different ages Supervise and actively engage with children during afternoon activities and play Maintain required supervision, ratios, and headcounts at all times Greet and communicate professionally with parents during afternoon pickup Assist children with their individual needs and daily routines Keep classrooms clean, organized, and safe throughout the evening Complete end-of-day classroom cleaning and closing responsibilities Ensure toys, materials, and classroom spaces are put away and prepared for the next day Work cooperatively with teachers and administration wherever coverage is needed What We're Looking For We are looking for someone who is: Dependable and punctual Warm, patient, and genuinely enjoys working with children Comfortable working with multiple age groups and classrooms Able to take direction and adapt as classroom needs change Friendly and professional when interacting with families Willing to clean, organize, and stay productive during slower portions of the evening Able to work independently and properly close down a classroom Available consistently Monday-Friday Childcare experience is preferred, but we are willing to consider the right candidate who is eager to learn and meets all applicable childcare employment requirements.
