Job Description

VPK Lead Teacher (Full Time) Are you passionate about making a meaningful impact in the lives of young children? Launch Learning Preschool is seeking an experienced and nurturing VPK Lead Teacher to join our team. In this role, you will create and implement engaging, developmentally appropriate curriculum for four- and five-year-olds, including whole group instruction, small group rotations, and hands-on learning experiences throughout the school day. Our program embraces a highly interactive, play-based approach that thoughtfully balances guided instruction with child-led exploration and discovery. The ideal candidate has a strong background in early childhood education and extensive experience working with young children in a preschool setting. We are seeking someone who values relationship-based teaching practices, utilizes Conscious Discipline strategies, and can support Launch Learning's balanced educational philosophy by blending Montessori-inspired structure, intentional materials, and independence with HighScope's active learning, creativity, child choice, and open-ended play experiences to support the development of the whole child. This is a full-time position with the opportunity to be part of a collaborative, supportive, and passionate school community dedicated to helping children thrive academically, socially, and emotionally.
Responsibilities:
  • Plans, organizes, and delivers instruction to meet individual and group needs utilizing state guidelines and school curriculum.
  • Leads developmentally appropriate activities to encourage healthy physical, social, emotional, and cognitive development for students.
  • Acts in the best interests of students and models appropriate behaviors in all professional interactions.
  • Empowers the Assistant Teacher to implement curriculum and plan with excellence.
  • Works closely with the Parent Educator in a team approach to facilitate understanding child behaviors and addressing parental/familial concerns that affect children's participation in the program.
  • Creates a positive learning environment which is safe, mutually respectful, and conducive to building self esteem for the children and adults in the program.
Requirements:
  • B.S. or M.A. in Early Childhood Education, Elementary Education, or equivalent
  • 3 Years + of experience working with young children

Previous teaching experience or work related experience is desired.
