Monday-Friday, 9:00 AM-6:00 PM Preschool License #: 50370 Do you love working with preschoolers and helping children prepare for kindergarten? Life Learning Academy is looking for a positive, dependable, and caring VPK Assistant Preschool Teacher to join our teaching team. We are looking for someone who enjoys working with children ages 0-5, works well as part of a classroom team, and is committed to helping children build the academic, social, emotional, and independence skills they need for kindergarten. Responsibilities Assist the Lead VPK Teacher with daily classroom activities and routines Support age-appropriate VPK lessons and learning activities Work with children individually and in small groups Assist with circle time, centers, literacy, early math, writing, art, and hands-on learning Help children develop kindergarten-readiness skills Support positive classroom behavior and reinforce classroom expectations Encourage independence, communication, problem-solving, and social-emotional development Prepare classroom materials and learning activities Maintain a clean, organized, safe, and welcoming classroom Supervise children during classroom activities, meals, outdoor play, transitions, and daily routines Communicate professionally with teachers, administration, children, and families Work collaboratively with the Lead Teacher and other staff members Assist in other classrooms or provide teacher coverage as needed to maintain required teacher-to-child ratios Follow all school, VPK, DCF, licensing, health, and safety requirements Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent required Previous preschool or childcare experience preferred Experience working with children ages 4-5 strongly preferred VPK classroom experience is a plus Florida DCF Child Care Training preferred Candidates currently completing required DCF training may also be considered CDA, Staff Credential, or other early childhood education credential is a plus Strong communication and teamwork skills Patient, dependable, energetic, and professional Ability to follow lesson plans and classroom routines Comfortable assisting children with early literacy, writing, numbers, and kindergarten-readiness activities Flexible and willing to assist throughout the school as needed Proficient in English Spanish and/or Creole is a plus Reliable attendance, punctuality, and availability to work the full 9:00 AM-6:00 PM schedule are essential for this position Benefits & Perks Paid holidays Annual pay increases Professional development opportunities Weekly breakfast or lunch often provided for staff Employee appreciation gifts and recognition Staff holiday parties and celebrations Supportive and collaborative team environment Opportunities for professional growth We are looking for someone who understands that being an Assistant Teacher means being an active member of the classroom team .
