Assistant Director Are you an experienced early childhood educator who loves working with children but is also ready to grow into a leadership role? We are looking for a reliable, professional, enthusiastic Assistant Director to help support the day-to-day operations of our preschool. This is a hands-on leadership position for someone who can move comfortably between supporting teachers in the classroom, helping families at the front desk, solving problems, and assisting the Director with the many moving pieces that keep a great school running. This is not primarily a desk position. Our Assistant Director is an important part of our classroom coverage team and will regularly step into classrooms to cover teacher absences, breaks, ratios, and other staffing needs. Some days may include significant classroom time. The right person for this position genuinely enjoys being with children and sees classroom support as an important part of school leadership. What You'll Do You'll work closely with the Director to help keep the school organized, welcoming, safe, and running smoothly.

Responsibilities include:

Step into classrooms as needed for teacher absences, breaks, ratios, and coverage Support and guide teachers throughout the school day Help maintain a positive, professional staff culture Welcome families and provide excellent customer service Assist with parent questions and communication Support tours, enrollment, and family retention efforts Help coordinate staff schedules, breaks, and classroom coverage Monitor classroom ratios, supervision, licensing requirements, and safety standards Assist with student and staff records, attendance, billing follow-up, reports, and other administrative responsibilities Help onboard and train new employees Serve as a point of contact for staff and families when the Director is unavailable Notice problems, take initiative, and communicate concerns promptly to the Director Who We're Looking For More than anything, we're looking for someone we can count on . Qualifications Applicants must:

Be at least 21 years old Hold a Florida Staff Credential or work toward one Have reliable transportation Be able to pass all required background screenings Be physically capable of working with young children, including lifting up to 50 pounds and frequently sitting, standing, kneeling, bending, and moving throughout classrooms Obtain pediatric CPR/First Aid certification within 30 days of hire Complete required Florida child care training requirements A Florida Director Credential is preferred , or the successful candidate must be willing to begin working toward it within one month of hire.
