The Children's House of Ormond Beach is seeking an experienced and inspired PreK-K teacher to join our educational team. About the Opportunity This position is an opportunity for an experienced early childhood educator who is looking for a school environment where their knowledge, experience, and ability to thoughtfully guide young learners are valued. Key Responsibilities Prepare and provide direct instruction and meaningful learning experiences for students in a PreK-K classroom. Plan and facilitate individual and small- and large-group activities that support a team teaching model and each child's development and learning. Observe, assess, and document student progress, mastery of learning objectives, and opportunities for continued growth. Facilitate smooth transitions and establish consistent, supportive daily routines. Create and maintain a safe, respectful, and engaging classroom environment. Recognize and respond to the individual needs, abilities, interests, and developmental stages of each student. Collaborate with colleagues to support a cohesive educational experience for every child. Incorporate Montessori principles and other complementary educational philosophies into daily classroom experiences. Encourage children's confidence, independence, curiosity, self-awareness, and developing sense of responsibility. Qualifications Minimum of 2 years of classroom teaching experience in a PreK-K educational setting . DCF 45 Hour Training Experience providing direct instruction to young children. Montessori experience or familiarity with Montessori principles is preferred. Experience in a school or educational environment is required. Daycare or childcare experience alone does not meet this qualification. Ability to successfully complete a Level 2 background screening. Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills. Ability to observe children carefully and respond thoughtfully to individual learning and developmental needs.
