At Small Steps our staff create a warm family environment- we support, assist and foster creativity in each other and the children. Ultimately, a successful candidate will share our passion for teaching young minds and preparing young hearts.
Responsibilities:
- Writing developmentally appropriate lesson plans that cover all domains of learning
- Employing active supervision techniques to keep children safe
- Maintaining a safe and organized classroom environment
- Taking a hands on approach to actively engage with children
- Handling parent communication in a positive, professional manner
- Setting clear expectations and managing children in a group care setting
Requirements:
- 1+ years experience in Early Childhood
- First aid and CPR certification
- DCF 45 basic training hrs
- CDA or early childhood degree These will give you a competitive edge, but aren't required for the job:
- 5+ years experience
- Extra non required training in the Early Childhood field such as behavioral, Literacy or Curriculum based
