The VPK Teacher will support children's social, emotional, cognitive, language, and physical development while preparing them for a successful transition to kindergarten. Responsibilities Plan and implement age-appropriate, engaging VPK lessons and activities. Follow Florida VPK standards and curriculum requirements. Create a safe, welcoming, and developmentally appropriate classroom environment. Support children's social-emotional development and positive behavior. Encourage language, literacy, mathematics, science, creativity, and problem-solving skills. Maintain accurate attendance, developmental, and classroom records. Communicate regularly and professionally with parents and guardians. Monitor children's health, safety, and overall well-being. Maintain a clean, organized, and stimulating classroom. Work cooperatively with other teachers, administrators, and support staff. Participate in staff meetings, professional development, and required training. Follow all center policies and applicable Florida childcare and VPK regulations. Qualifications Meet Florida VPK teacher qualification requirements. Required early childhood education credentials or coursework as applicable. Previous experience working with preschool-aged children preferred. Strong communication and classroom-management skills. Patient, dependable, nurturing, and enthusiastic personality. Ability to work effectively as part of a team. Current CPR/First Aid certification or willingness to obtain it. Ability to pass required background screening and meet applicable childcare employment requirements.
