Job Description

Position Summary:
The Full-Time Administrative Assistant & Early Childhood Assistant is a dual-role position that provides essential support to both the school's front office and the Early Childhood Program. This employee serves as a key member of the school team by performing administrative duties during the morning and assisting in the Early Childhood classroom during the afternoon. The ideal candidate is organized, dependable, professional, flexible, and enjoys working with children, families, and staff.
Key Responsibilities:
Assist educators with implementing age-appropriate activities and routines Supervise children to ensure a safe and inclusive environment Support children with transitions such as naptime, snack time, and pick-up Help with classroom clean-up and organization at the end of the day Maintain hygiene and assist with toileting and diapering as needed Foster positive relationships with children, families, and staff Follow center policies and licensing regulations Answer and direct incoming phone calls. Greet and assist parents, students, staff, and visitors. Assist with student attendance and front office operations. Prepare letters, forms, newsletters, and other school communications. Maintain student records and confidential files. Perform filing, copying, scanning, and data entry. Respond to emails and provide excellent customer service. Assist administrators with daily office tasks and special projects. Maintain office supplies and organization.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent required Experience working with young children preferred Early Childhood Education (ECE) certification or working towards it is an asset CPR and First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain) Clear background check and health screening Strong communication and teamwork skills Previous administrative or office experience preferred. Strong organizational, communication, and multitasking skills. Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Google Workspace.
