Job Description

Position Summary The Toddler Teacher is responsible for creating a warm, loving, and structured classroom where two-year-olds can learn through play, exploration, and hands-on experiences. The ideal candidate understands toddler development, demonstrates patience and creativity, and enjoys building strong relationships with children and their families. Responsibilities Create a safe, nurturing, and stimulating classroom environment for two-year-old children. Plan and implement age-appropriate learning activities that promote social, emotional, cognitive, language, and physical development. Encourage independence while teaching routines, self-help skills, and positive behaviors. Supervise children at all times to ensure their health and safety. Maintain daily communication with parents regarding their child's progress and daily activities. Complete classroom documentation, observations, and developmental assessments as required. Maintain a clean, organized, and inviting classroom. Support potty training efforts in partnership with families, when appropriate. Foster positive social interactions and guide children using positive behavior management techniques. Follow all Georgia Department of Early Care and Learning (DECAL) regulations and licensing requirements. Participate in staff meetings, professional development, and required training. Qualifications High school diploma or GED required. CDA, TCC, Associate's Degree, or higher in Early Childhood Education preferred. Previous experience working with toddlers in a licensed childcare setting preferred. Knowledge of child development and developmentally appropriate practices. Must meet all Georgia Bright from the Start and DECAL employment requirements. Must successfully pass all required background checks. Preferred Skills Passion for working with young children.
