Overview Waianae Early Education Center is seeking a Preschool Teacher with a passion for nurturing young minds to inspire curiosity, creativity, and confidence in children. In this dynamic role, you will work support the lead teachers for our three and four year old classrooms. Your expertise in early childhood education will help lay a strong foundation for children's social, emotional, cognitive, and physical development. Duties Develop and implement age-appropriate curricula that incorporate literacy education, math skills, physical education, and Montessori methods to support holistic child development. Create engaging lesson plans that cater to diverse learning styles and developmental needs of preschoolers, including toddlers and children with special education requirements. Manage classroom behavior effectively through positive reinforcement strategies and behavior management techniques to ensure a respectful and productive learning environment. Communicate regularly with parents and guardians to share progress updates, discuss concerns, and collaborate on supporting each child's growth. Conduct assessments aligned with standardized testing standards to monitor developmental milestones and tailor instruction accordingly. Ensure safety by adhering to mandated reporting laws, maintaining first aid and CPR certifications, and following health protocols for childcare settings. Collaborate with colleagues on curriculum development, classroom management strategies, and early intervention programs to enhance educational outcomes. Qualifications Proven experience working with children in preschool or daycare settings, demonstrating strong classroom management skills. Knowledge of childhood development principles. Formal training or certification in early childhood education. Excellent communication skills for effective parent engagement and team collaboration. Ability to develop creative lesson plans that include literacy education, math activities, physical education, and social-emotional learning. Certification in first aid and CPR is required; ongoing professional development in child welfare is highly valued. Familiarity with NAEYC standards and Teaching Strategies Curriculum and Assessments preferred, but willing to train.

Pay:

$17.00 - $18.50 per hour
