Job Description
Overview We are seeking a dedicated and caring Float/Aftercare Teacher to join our team and support the security and development of our students from 12-2 as floating assistant and 3 to 5:30pm in extended care. As an Aftercare Teacher, you will work closely with preschool-elementary aged students to provide individualized attention, craft activities, and create a nurturing environment that fosters comfort and security. Responsibilities
- Help maintain a safe, clean, and organized aftercare environment, ensuring all necessary materials and supplies are available and properly utilized.
- Assist with the care and supervision of children, including feeding, and toileting, as necessary.
- Develop and implement childcare and caregiving strategies to support the well-being and safety of all aftercare students.
- Participate in classroom activities and assist teachers when covering in preschool-aged classrooms.
- Communicate with teachers and director to keep them informed of children's progress and any changes or concerns. Skills
- Experience working with children of various ages, including preschool.
- Strong understanding of childhood development.
- Ability to provide care and support to students using positive classroom management strategies.
- Experience in babysitting, nannying, or childcare.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with children, teachers, and parents.
- Ability to lift and move heavy objects, and to physically assist students as needed.
