Summary :

The High School Staff assists classroom teachers by supporting activities, supervision, and maintaining a safe and clean environment. This role provides an opportunity to learn about early childhood education while helping ensure quality care for children. Primary Responsibilities Assist with playtime, crafts, reading, and outdoor activities. Help maintain classroom cleanliness and organization. Model positive behavior and interactions with children. Follow all safety and confidentiality guidelines. Perform other duties as directed by the Lead Teacher. Professional Growth and Development Complete required Iowa HHS training within the first three months of employment: Mandatory Reporter Training for child abuse. At least one hour of Universal Precautions training (OSHA standard). Pediatric CPR and First Aid certification. Essentials Child Care Pre-Service or equivalent health and safety training. Maintain current certifications and complete annual continuing education as required by Iowa HHS.

Health and Safety Requirements:

Complete a staff physical examination within 6 months of employment. Provide documentation of a TB test as required by Iowa HHS. Fingerprinting and background checks prior to employment. Minimum Qualifications Must be at least 16 years old and enrolled in high school. Interest in working with young children and learning about early childhood education. Ability to follow directions and maintain professionalism. Physical Requirements Ability to lift a minimum of 30 lbs. routinely. Frequent bending, stooping, kneeling, squatting, and reaching.
