The Day Care Instructor will work as a team with management staff and other staff to implement the childcare program. The team will assist in carrying out the childcare mission and values by providing high-quality childcare services to children and parents. Responsible to ensuring quality services are provided in compliance with all accreditation and organizational standards.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

Plan and implement the daily lesson plans. Assist in supervising children and participate with children in activities. Maintain program site and equipment. Communicate with parents on an ongoing basis and plan parent conferences. Complete with daily observations and evaluations. Guide children's behavior. Other duties or tasks as designated by the management team. Attend and complete necessary training by department/agency requirements to support the children in a safe and dignified manner.

QUALIFICATIONS

Must be able to pass background checks, physicals, and fingerprinting. Ability to work with staff/children/families from diverse backgrounds. Ability to meet Iowa DHS standards and regulations for a childcare employee. One - three years of previous experience in a childcare setting is preferred. Must be at least of legal age.
