Job Summary We are seeking a dedicated and energetic Daycare Assistant to join our vibrant early childhood education team. In this role, you will support the daily operations of a dynamic childcare environment, ensuring a safe, nurturing, and engaging space for young children to learn and grow. Duties Assist lead teachers in implementing age-appropriate activities that promote childhood development and learning. Supervise children during playtime, meals, nap times, and outdoor activities to ensure safety and well-being. Support classroom management by maintaining a clean, organized environment and adhering to safety protocols. Engage with children using positive behavior management techniques and encourage social interaction. Help with diapering, feeding, and basic caregiving tasks in accordance with health and safety regulations. Follow mandated reporting laws by observing children closely and reporting any concerns about their well-being or safety. Support special education needs by assisting with individualized plans and working with children with disabilities or developmental delays. Qualifications Prior experience working with young children in daycare, preschool, nannying, babysitting, or similar settings is highly preferred. Knowledge of childhood development principles and early childhood education best practices. Certification in pediatric first aid and CPR (or willingness to obtain upon hire). Familiarity with classroom management techniques, behavior management strategies, and caregiving routines. Ability to work effectively with children of various ages, including infants, toddlers, and preschoolers. Understanding of mandated reporting laws related to child safety and protection. Strong communication skills to collaborate with team members, parents, and specialists such as special education professionals.
