We're looking for an educator who genuinely enjoys working with toddlers and understands the patience, consistency, energy, and strong supervision this age group requires. The ideal candidate is confident managing classroom routines, implementing curriculum, supporting social-emotional development, guiding challenging behaviors, and creating a safe and engaging learning environment. Responsibilities Maintain active supervision and ensure the health and safety of children at all times Plan and implement developmentally appropriate curriculum and learning activities Maintain consistent classroom routines and smooth transitions Support toddlers with emotional regulation, peer interactions, and age-appropriate behavior guidance Complete diapering, toileting, meals, nap routines, and other daily caregiving responsibilities Maintain a clean, organized, and engaging classroom environment Complete required daily documentation and child observations Communicate professionally and positively with families Work collaboratively with co-teachers and center leadership Follow Creative Academy policies, procedures, and applicable Illinois DCFS licensing requirements Participate in staff meetings, required training, and professional development Qualifications Previous experience working with toddlers in a licensed childcare center strongly preferred Must meet applicable Illinois DCFS teacher qualifications College coursework in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, or a related field preferred CDA and/or Gateways credentials are a plus CPR/First Aid certification preferred Knowledge of toddler development and developmentally appropriate practices Strong classroom management and active-supervision skills Comfortable with diapering, toileting, and all aspects of toddler care Ability to communicate effectively with children, families, and coworkers Must be dependable, professional, patient, organized, and receptive to feedback Schedule & Availability This is a Monday-Friday position . Candidates must have consistent availability to work through Creative Academy's 5:30 PM closing time . Start times may vary based on enrollment and staffing needs; however, availability to close is required for this position . The Right Candidate We're looking for someone who brings both warmth and structure to the toddler classroom. You should be comfortable getting on the floor and engaging with children, leading activities, managing transitions, responding appropriately to toddler behaviors, communicating with families, and working collaboratively with your teaching team. We especially value teachers who are reliable, proactive, engaged, and consistent . You should be able to recognize what needs attention, take initiative within your role, follow established procedures, and contribute positively to the classroom without requiring constant direction.

Pay:

$17.00 - $19.50 per hour Expected hours: No more than 37.0 per week
