Company Overview The Tri-County Opportunities Council Early Head Start/Head Start Program serves 483 expectant mothers and children ages birth to five in the nine Illinois Counties of Bureau, Carroll, LaSalle, Lee, Marshall, Ogle, Putnam, Stark, and Whiteside. The program offers comprehensive child and family development services to those deemed eligible. The program's primary goals are to partner with parents to promote self-esteem, increase self-confidence, and advance school readiness skills for children. Comprehensive programming includes education, medical, dental, mental health, and nutritional services; welcomes children with disabilities or special needs; and provides family education, advancement, and social service support while connecting enrolled families to community resources and transportation assistance. The program offers various options to meet the needs of children, families, and communities throughout all nine counties.

Early Head Start or Head Start:

Streator Lead Teacher (Head Start): 40 hrs./wk.; full-year position. Minimum of a bachelor's degree in early childhood education, child development, or a closely related degree with a minimum of 21 credit hours in ECE. Previous experience in a licensed early childhood setting is desired.

Starting Wage Range:

$20.87 to $24.07 Streator Infant/Toddler Lead Teacher (Early Head Start): 40 hrs./wk.; full-year position. A minimum of an AAS in Early Childhood Development, Early Childhood Education, or equivalent coursework. In addition to the above requirements, nine credits in infant-toddler studies are required. Previous experience in a licensed early childhood setting is desired.

Ottawa Lead Teacher (Head Start): 40 hrs./wk.; full-year position. Minimum of a bachelor's degree in early childhood education, child development, or a closely related degree with a minimum of 21 credit hours in ECE. Previous experience in a licensed early childhood setting is desired.

$20.87 to $24.07 Ottawa Bus Driver/Class Aide (Head Start): 18 hrs./wk. Bus Driver and 12 hrs./wk. Class Aide; part-year position. Minimum of a high school diploma or GED and an excellent driving record. Must have held a valid driver's license for at least three (3) consecutive years before hire.

Starting Wage Range:

$17.11 to $17.93 Ottawa Infant/Toddler Lead Teacher (Early Head Start): 40 hrs./wk.; full-year position. A minimum of an AAS in Early Childhood Development, Early Childhood Education, or equivalent coursework. In addition to the above requirements, nine credits in infant-toddler studies are required. $16.10 to $22.88 Ottawa Food Service Worker/Bus Monitor (Head Start): 23 hrs./wk. Food Service and 12hrs./wk. Bus Monitor; Part-Year Position. Minimum of a high school diploma or GED. Valid driver's license. Must obtain and maintain an Illinois Department of Public Health Sanitation Certification within the first 30-60 days of employment. Encouraged but not required to obtain a Commercial Driver's License and ISBE Bus Permit.

Early Head Start or Head Start:

LaSalle Bus Driver/Class Aide (Head Start): 18 hrs./wk. Bus Driver and 12 hrs./wk. Class Aide; part-year position. Minimum of a high school diploma or GED and an excellent driving record. Must have held a valid driver's license for at least three (3) consecutive years before hire.

People with or without experience will be required to obtain a Preschool CDA within 12 months of hire and will be encouraged to obtain their associate's degree in ECE.

$16.10 to $19.06 Open Support Positions in Southern Area for

Early Head Start or Head Start:

Site Supervisor (Early Head Start and Head Start): 40 hrs./wk.; full-year position; Office in Ottawa. A minimum of a bachelor's degree in early childhood education, child development, or related degree with a minimum of 21 credit hours in ECE is required. Previous supervisory experience is preferred but not required. Frequent travel between Mendota and Ottawa sites.

Starting Wage Range:

$22.53 to $24.85
