Job Description

The Assistant Teacher is responsible for providing care for children 6 weeks to 7 years old, by ensuring the health, safety, and quality of education for all children within the center. The Assistant Teacher provides a nurturing and respectful environment in which children can grow physically, emotionally, socially and intellectually.
Primary Responsibilities:
Assures that all children receive proper care and attention to their toileting/diapering, clothing and health needs. Builds relationships with each child and is flexible and responsive to children's needs and interests. Encourages independence and self-help skills. Mixes education with play by modeling positive behavior, helping children get started in play, suggesting alternatives, ensuring safety. Provides guidance to children through positive role modeling, redirection and explanations. Assist in other center duties as needed or assigned.
Minimum Requirements:
Must be at least 19 years old. Have a high school diploma or GED.
Physical Requirements:
Ability to move around and frequently change position throughout the day. May include walking, squatting and bending over. Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
Status:
Full Time, Monday - Friday, 7:30am - 4pm
Pay:
From $17.00 per hour
