Job Summary We are looking for a passionate, energetic, and experienced Pre-K Teacher to lead our 4- to 5-year-old classroom. The ideal candidate will prepare our students for Kindergarten by creating engaging, developmentally appropriate lesson plans that foster cognitive, social, emotional, and physical development.
Key Responsibilities Classroom Leadership:
Plan and execute daily lessons and hands-on activities that focus on literacy, early math, science, and social-emotional skills to ensure Kindergarten readiness.
Child Supervision & Safety:
Maintain active supervision of children at all times in accordance with DCFS licensing regulations and school safety policies.
Routine & Care Management:
Lead mealtime, naptime transitions, and outdoor play while maintaining a clean, organized, and sanitary classroom environment.
Parent Communication:
Maintain open, professional communication with parents regarding daily progress, developmental milestones, and classroom updates via our parent engagement app.
Documentation & Assessment:
Complete developmental assessments, track student growth, and file incident/accident reports promptly when needed.
Team Collaboration:
Work closely with administrative staff, assistant teachers, and floaters to maintain required teacher-to-child ratios and positive classroom flow.
Qualifications & Skills Education:
Associate degree or Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education (ECE), Child Development, or a related field preferred. (High School Diploma/GED required with relevant ECE coursework).
Experience:
Minimum 1-2 years of experience teaching in a licensed childcare center or preschool setting (specifically with 4-5 year olds preferred).
Certifications & Compliance:
Gateways to Opportunity Registry Member (or willing to enroll upon hire). CPR & Pediatric First Aid Certification (or ability to obtain). Food Handler Certificate. Must pass DCFS Background Check, Fingerprinting, and Medical Exam (including TB test).
