Primrose School of Westmont is building the founding teaching team for our new premier early education and care school serving families throughout Westmont, Hinsdale, Clarendon Hills, Downers Grove, Oak Brook, and surrounding communities. If you are an experienced Lead Teacher, preschool teacher, child care teacher, or early childhood educator looking for a school that invests in excellent teachers, provides strong leadership and prepared curriculum, and maintains high standards for education and care, we would love to meet you. - Create a warm, responsive, and engaging classroom where children feel safe, known, and excited to learn
- Implement the Primrose Balanced Learning® curriculum and prepared lesson plans while responding to each child's individual development, interests, and needs
- Maintain active supervision and a clean, organized classroom that meets high standards for health and safety
- Use positive, developmentally appropriate guidance and help children build confidence, independence, and strong social-emotional skills
- Support age-appropriate care routines as applicable to your classroom, including feeding and bottle handling, diapering, safe sleep, toileting, meals, rest, and transitions
- Observe and document children's development and communicate warmly and professionally with families
- Partner effectively with co-teachers and school leadership to provide consistent care, learning experiences, and a positive classroom culture
- Complete required training and participate in ongoing professional development What We're Looking For We are building a team of experienced classroom leaders who can deliver an exceptional standard of education and care from day one. To be considered, you must have:
- At least two years of experience as the primary classroom teacher in a licensed early childhood setting, with responsibility for a group of children
- Qualification as an Early Childhood Teacher under Illinois child care licensing standards
- A genuine passion for nurturing and educating young children
- Strong classroom leadership, communication, teamwork, reliability, and professionalism
- The ability to provide attentive supervision and meet the physical demands of working with young children, including lifting and carrying children as needed, bending, kneeling, and sustained floor-level interaction
- Excitement about joining a new school and helping build an exceptional culture from day one Preferred experience:
- Experience across more than one age group — infant, toddler, preschool, or Pre-K
- An associate's or bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, or a related field
- Experience opening a new school or leading a classroom through a program's first year Conditions of Employment
- Employment is subject to completion of all background checks and pre-employment health screenings required by Illinois child care licensing regulations
- This is an hourly, non-exempt position Compensation & Benefits
- $20-$25 per hour, based on qualifications and experience
