Job Description

South Central Community Action Program (SCCAP) is seeking a Lead Teacher-Onsite Supervisor for the DeFord Early Learning Center (DELC) in Owen County. SCCAP is a non-profit social service agency that works to provide opportunities for low-income individuals and families to achieve personal and economic independence. The DELC Lead Teacher-Onsite Supervisor provides responsive, developmentally appropriate care and education for infants and toddlers through relationship-based, whole-child practices. This position leads classroom teaching, collaborates closely with families, and ensures environments that honor children's curiosity, autonomy, and emerging competencies. In addition to classroom responsibilities, the Lead Teacher-Onsite Supervisor serves as the designated person in charge of the Micro Center facility during any absence of the Supervisor. This position is responsible for maintaining compliance with licensing regulations, supporting operational continuity, communicating with regulatory agencies as needed, and overseeing emergency procedures to ensure the health, safety, and well-being of children and staff. The Lead Teacher-Onsite Supervisor upholds State Child Care Licensing requirements, contributes to NAEYC accreditation efforts, and models SCCAP's commitment to empowering people to reach their potential in all interactions. Education & Experience include: Associate degree in Early Childhood Education, CDA credential for Infant and Toddler Caregivers, or advanced degree with coursework equivalent to a major in Early Childhood Education. Familiarity with relationship-based, respectful approaches that emphasize responsive caregiving, early learning, and whole-child development. Demonstrated ability to lead and coordinate site teaching staff, guiding daily routines, fostering intentional, reflective practice, and maintaining a cohesive, respectful environment. Experience observing, assessing, and responding to children's developmental, emotional, and social needs. Proven experience communicating effectively with families and collaborating with colleagues and specialists to support children's individualized learning. Strong reading, writing, and basic math skills; able to use computers and mobile devices for communication and documentation and to learn new software used in early childhood programs. Pay:
$20.00 - $22.00 per hour Expected hours: 37.5 per week
