Job Description

Zionsville schools is seeking a Paraprofessional to assist with the Preschool classroom. This is a full time position. This position will serve as the assistant to the lead preschool facilitator in the classroom within the Universal Preschool program. Specific duties will include assisting with organizing and implementing a rich environment of activities for preschool students. Provide and role model appropriate communication and exemplary service to students and families.
Essential Functions:
Assist with implementation of age appropriate programming that meets the individual needs, interests and abilities of the students assigned to classroom. Create a positive, safe classroom environment that is conducive to learning and appropriate to the maturity and interests of the students. Assist classroom lead facilitator with execution of lesson plans for Universal Preschool classes and programs. Help enforce reasonable rules of classroom behavior and procedures to maintain order in the classroom. Encourage all students to strive and achieve high standards of classroom behavior. Assist preschool students with self care and hygiene and provide guided instruction as needed. Employ a variety of instructional techniques and instructional media, consistent with the needs and abilities of the students involved. Maintain constant supervision and safety of all students both indoors and outdoors during all activities. Assist with creating and organizing classroom materials for preschool activities. Recognize and address the learning difficulties of students on a regular basis, seeking the assistance of classroom lead as needed. Maintain accurate, complete and correct records as required by law, district policy and administrative regulation, as directed by OSP Director or classroom lead.
