We're hiring a Lead-Qualified Float Teacher — the person who moves between classrooms, steps into lead when a room needs it, and keeps the day running smoothly across toddler through preschool. This is a role for an experienced, adaptable educator. No two days look the same: one morning you're leading a preschool circle, the afternoon you're steadying a toddler room through transitions. If routine bores you and you like being the dependable one a team can count on, this is a great fit. And the 4-day, 10-hour schedule means a three-day weekend, every week. What you'll do Step into classrooms across age groups as needed, taking the lead role to keep care and learning consistent Run developmentally appropriate lessons and activities — literacy, early math, fine and gross motor, social-emotional growth Hold a calm, structured room with strong classroom management and positive behavior guidance Support children with diverse learning or developmental needs, working alongside leadership and support staff Observe and document children's progress through daily notes and age-appropriate assessments Partner with lead teachers, directors, and support staff for smooth transitions and consistent expectations Communicate professionally with families to support each child's growth Keep attendance, assessments, and classroom records accurate and on time Follow all health, safety, and supervision protocols What we're looking for Lead-teacher qualified under Kansas licensing standards (required) Experience in early childhood or preschool settings (strongly preferred) A track record of lesson planning, curriculum implementation, and classroom leadership Solid grasp of child development from toddler through preschool age Comfort adapting quickly to different rooms, teams, and routines Experience supporting children with varied learning, behavioral, or developmental needs Strong communication and teamwork Montessori or private school experience is a plus, not a requirement Why you'll like working here A 4-day week with a standing three-day weekend Leadership that supports you instead of just managing you Variety that keeps the work interesting A close team that has each other's backs Ready to apply?
