Employees will assist with daily learning activities, meals, diapering/toileting, rest periods, outdoor play, classroom routines, and other activities based on the ages of the children assigned to their classroom. Primary Duties & Responsibilities Provide direct supervision of children at all times. Maintain required staff-to-child ratios. Create a safe, welcoming, nurturing, and positive classroom environment. Assist with age-appropriate educational activities, including story time, art, sensory activities, fine and gross motor activities, group activities, and learning through play. Assist children with meals, snacks, handwashing, toileting, diaper changes, and other personal-care needs. Follow proper sanitation, health, safety, and infection-control procedures. Maintain a clean and organized classroom throughout the day. Monitor children for signs of illness, injury, behavioral concerns, or changes in condition. Properly document accidents, incidents, injuries, and other required information. Communicate professionally and respectfully with parents, guardians, coworkers, and management. Follow each child's individual care instructions, including allergy and medical plans when applicable.

Assist with nap/rest time and maintain appropriate supervision. Participate in outdoor and indoor activities with children.

Help prepare and serve meals and snacks according to center procedures. Follow all 4 Us Daycare Center policies and procedures. Follow applicable Kansas childcare licensing, health, and safety requirements. Protect the confidentiality and privacy of children and families.

Attend required staff meetings, training, and professional-development activities. Complete required classroom and center documentation accurately and on time. Work cooperatively with other staff members and assist in other classrooms when needed.

Qualifications Applicants should:

Be dependable, punctual, responsible, and professional. Have a genuine interest in working with children.

Be patient, nurturing, attentive, and able to maintain appropriate boundaries with children. Be able to communicate effectively with children, parents, coworkers, and management. Be able to follow written and verbal instructions. Be willing and able to complete all required Kansas childcare training and employment requirements. Be able to successfully complete required background checks. Be willing to obtain and maintain current CPR and First Aid certification. Complete required training, including KickStart 101 and KickStart 102 , when applicable to the position. Meet all applicable Kansas requirements for the position for which they are hired. Previous childcare, daycare, teaching, early childhood, babysitting, or similar experience is preferred. Physical Requirements Employees must be able to safely perform the essential duties of a childcare position, including sitting on the floor, standing, bending, reaching, walking, participating in activities with children, and lifting or assisting children as necessary for their assigned classroom.
