Overview Robbin's Preschool Playhouse is seeking a caring, dependable, energetic, and professional Preschool Lead Teacher to provide a safe, nurturing, educational, and engaging environment for young children. The Lead Teacher is responsible for planning and implementing developmentally appropriate learning experiences, maintaining a well-organized classroom, supervising children, communicating with families, and ensuring that all childcare center policies and licensing requirements are followed. Increasing skills is what we do! Essential Duties & Responsibilities Create and maintain a safe, welcoming, nurturing, and organized classroom environment. Plan and implement age-appropriate lesson plans and daily learning activities. Provide activities that support children's social-emotional, language, cognitive, creative, and physical development. Maintain active supervision of children at all times, including during classroom activities, meals, outdoor play, rest time, and transitions. Establish consistent classroom routines and expectations. Use positive guidance and age-appropriate behavior-management techniques. Observe children's development and maintain required classroom and developmental records. Communicate professionally and respectfully with parents and guardians regarding children's daily experiences, progress, and concerns. Maintain accurate attendance, meal, incident, accident, and other required classroom records. Ensure the classroom is clean, sanitary, organized, and properly supplied. Follow health, sanitation, diapering/toileting, handwashing, and food-safety procedures. Conduct regular head counts and follow all procedures for child supervision and accountability. Assist children with meals, toileting, dressing, rest, and other daily needs as appropriate. Prepare classroom materials and maintain learning centers. Participate in staff meetings, professional development, training, and center activities. Work cooperatively with the Director, Assistant Director, teachers, assistants, and other staff. Provide appropriate direction and guidance to classroom assistants when assigned. Maintain confidentiality regarding children, families, and staff. Immediately report accidents, injuries, suspected abuse or neglect, safety concerns, and unusual incidents according to center policy and applicable requirements. Follow emergency preparedness, evacuation, lockdown, severe-weather, and family-reunification procedures. Maintain professional conduct and serve as a positive role model for children and coworkers. Perform other childcare-related duties assigned by the Director.

Qualifications The ideal candidate should:

Meet all applicable Kentucky requirements for working as a preschool/childcare teacher. Have experience working with young children in a childcare, preschool, or early childhood education setting. Have knowledge of child development and developmentally appropriate practices. Be dependable, punctual, patient, nurturing, and professional. Demonstrate strong classroom-management and communication skills. Be able to work effectively as part of a team. Complete all required background checks, orientation, training, and professional-development requirements. Maintain required CPR/First Aid and other certifications or training as applicable to the position.

Preferred:

CDA, Associate Degree, Bachelor's Degree, or coursework/credentials in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, or a related field. Physical Requirements The Lead Teacher must be able to perform the physical duties necessary to safely supervise and care for young children, including sitting on the floor, standing, bending, walking, reaching, and assisting children during daily activities. The employee must be able to respond promptly during emergencies and participate in required evacuation procedures. Professional Expectations All Lead Teachers are expected to: Arrive on time and be prepared for their scheduled shift. Maintain professional and respectful communication. Follow the center's dress code and attendance policies. Refrain from inappropriate cellphone use while supervising children. Never leave children unsupervised. Treat every child and family with dignity and respect. Follow all Robbin's Preschool Playhouse policies and procedures and applicable childcare licensing requirements.
