Purpose:
The Early Childhood Teacher Corps AmeriCorps program (ECTC) is designed to support school readiness of vulnerable children while offering a pipeline into the early education profession. It is the goal of our organization to create equitable learning environments by expanding access to high-quality early learning programs. Partnering with early care and education programs, the Early Childhood Teacher Corps will serve in the Greater New Orleans and Baton Rouge areas. Classroom & Teacher Support Assist and collaborate with the Lead Teacher to provide developmentally appropriate activities for infants, toddlers, or preschool-aged children. Help maintain a safe, nurturing, and engaging learning environment. Support the planning and implementation of daily lessons and educational activities. Monitor, document, and report children's progress, milestones, and behavioral observations. Communicate respectfully and professionally with parents, caregivers, and staff. CDA Program Participation Complete all CDA coursework, assignments, and assessments within the program timeline. Participate in all required training sessions, professional development workshops, and reflective coaching meetings. Complete the CDA professional portfolio and all related documentation. Demonstrate application of CDA learning in the classroom setting. Meet program attendance, participation, and progress benchmarks for certification. Qualifications- Does not require prior experience in early childcare ; Participants are trained to become Lead Teachers.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills for interacting with children, parents and staff
- Willingness to undergo background checks and meet AmeriCorps member requirements
High School Diploma/GED/equivalent Required Pay:
