Experience/Qualifications:

High school or equivalent Experience working with children in a child-care/school facility Good verbal and written communication skills Pre-K/preschool teacher assistants should be able to facilitate the lead teacher of the classroom with the following duties and responsibilities: Establish and enforce rules of behavior for children in their classrooms Provide basic needs for children Provide tools and resources for children to use and explore during learning and play activities Adapt teaching methods and materials to meet the interests and learning styles of children Develop and maintain positive relationships with children and parents Manage classroom activities including lessons, play, breaks and meals Track children's' progress and report to parents Work with teaching teams to maintain a clean and tidy classroom and school environment Help children reach developmental milestones Collaborate with others to implement lesson plans Encourage children to interact with each other to develop social skills Supervise and ensure safety of children at all times. Facilitate various activities for children including songs, games and storytelling Adhere to health/safety and sanitation procedures Maintain punctual and consistent attendance. Keep Program Director informed of any special needs or concerns about individual children. Attend all staff meetings, in-service training, set up/clean up days and team meetings. Write informative parent newsletters monthly. Fill out all required paperwork in a timely manner. This includes, but is not limited to accident reports, incident reports, and curriculum plans.
