Job Description

The Teacher Float position at the South Shore YMCA Early Learning Centers is a part-time position requiring a Monday through Friday schedule. Floaters move between classrooms (e.g., preschool or toddler rooms) based on their certification level and availability, but otherwise hold the same qualifications and responsibilities as our standard Teacher role. This opening is at the South Shore YMCA Early Learning Center in Hanover, MA a vibrant early childhood educational setting for children ages 6 weeks to 5+ years old.
Your Role Will Include:
Create & Implement:
Develop engaging lesson plans that support children's physical, cognitive, and emotional development, across whichever classroom you're covering.
Nurture & Support:
Foster strong relationships with children and families, keeping them informed of their progress.
Ensure Safety & Inclusion:
Maintain a clean, safe, and welcoming learning environment where every child feels valued.
Collaborate & Grow:
Work with each classroom's team of educators to maintain a positive, cohesive atmosphere.
Meet High Standards:
Maintain compliance with EEC regulations, NAEYC best practices, and quality standards.
Qualifications:
Must hold EEC Teacher certification through the Massachusetts Department of Early Education and Care. Knowledge of EEC regulations, QRIS Standards, and NAEYC best practices. Must be at least 18 years old. Strong classroom management skills and ability to work collaboratively. Willingness to engage in ongoing professional development.
Salary and Schedule:
$15.00 per hour.
Sick time accrual:
1 hour per 30 hours worked. Complimentary individual YMCA membership. Discount on childcare programs. Part-time; open to flexible scheduling; Monday-Friday.
Location & Shift Time:
Hanover Early Learning Center, Hanover, MA. PT, Monday - Friday within the hours of 7:00 AM-5:30 PM. sx5vzwsbLs
