Job Description
Square One | 255 King Street, Springfield, MA $21.56-$24.02 per hour Do Work That Matters! Are you passionate about helping young children learn, grow, and feel confident? Come grow with Square One! We're looking for a warm, creative, and caring Preschool Teacher to join our team. You'll work alongside a Lead Teacher to create a safe, engaging classroom where children can learn through play, build relationships, and discover the world around them. What You'll Do Plan and prepare fun, age-appropriate learning activities with the Lead Teacher. Provide nurturing care, supervision, and protection for children throughout the day. Support children's social-emotional development and positive behavior . Help create a classroom that is safe, welcoming, organized, and ready for learning . Support lunch, nap/rest time, transitions, and other daily routines. Step in and lead the classroom when the Lead Teacher is absent. Build positive relationships with children, families, and coworkers . Participate in staff meetings, parent conferences, planning, and program activities. Maintain required classroom records and communicate important information to appropriate staff. Perform other duties as assigned and consistent with applicable EEC requirements. What You Bring Meets Massachusetts Department of Early Education and Care (EEC) requirements for a Preschool Teacher. Meets EEC age and education requirements: applicants under 21 must have a high school diploma or GED; applicants 21 or older must otherwise meet applicable EEC requirements. Valid CPR and First Aid certification , as required. Patience, creativity, reliability, and a genuine love of working with young children. Strong communication and teamwork skills. Ability to build positive relationships with children, families, and colleagues.
Preferred:
Associate's degree in Early Childhood Education or a related field. Bilingual or multilingual skills are welcomed when they support communication with the children and families we serve.
