A Preschool or Childcare Teacher works with young children, usually ages 3 - 5, to help them learn the social, motor and language skills needed to be ready for kindergarten and elementary school. Organizes activities and uses play or games to help children learn; develops schedules and routines for children that include exercise and rest. Works in a school or in a childcare center or program.

Candidate Qualifications:
Friendly, inviting, imaginative, and passionate Previous experience in child care is a plus, but not required Willingness to adapt to varying hours Must comply with state requirements for child care positions Capable of handling multiple tasks simultaneously. Responsibilities Design and implement age-appropriate lesson plans that promote early childhood development, literacy, math, physical activity, and social-emotional skills. Provide attentive care by supporting daily routines. Foster a positive classroom environment through effective behavior management strategies that encourage cooperation and independence. Communicate regularly with parents about their child's progress, milestones, and any concerns to build strong partnerships. Maintain accurate documentation of child development progress, attendance records, and incident reports in compliance with mandated reporting laws. Collaborate with colleagues to develop curriculum tailored to individual needs, including special education or early intervention strategies when necessary. Ensure safety standards are upheld at all times by following health protocols such as first aid and CPR procedures, maintaining cleanliness, and supervising children closely. Qualifications Prior experience working with children in a daycare, preschool, or early childhood education setting is highly preferred. Knowledge of child development principles, classroom management techniques, and behavior management strategies. Familiarity with curriculum development methods including Montessori or other educational frameworks suited for infants and toddlers. Strong communication skills to effectively engage with children, parents, and team members. Certification in first aid and CPR is required; ongoing training in childhood welfare laws is a plus. Ability to plan engaging lessons that incorporate literacy education, math concepts, physical education, and social-emotional learning. Experience working with children with special needs or in early intervention programs is advantageous.
