The YMCA seeks a Preschool Lead Teacher to guide a nurturing, inclusive classroom for young children. In this role, you will design and deliver developmentally appropriate lessons that foster social, emotional, and cognitive growth, while reflecting the Y's mission of youth development, healthy living, and social responsibility. You will lead classroom staff, ensure safety and licensing compliance, partner closely with families, and model the YMCA's values of caring, honesty, respect, and responsibility in a collaborative, community-focused environment. Responsibilities Plan and implement developmentally appropriate preschool curriculum aligned with YMCA standards Create a safe, nurturing, and inclusive classroom environment for diverse learners Observe, document, and assess children's growth to inform instruction and family communication Lead classroom staff, providing guidance, feedback, and positive role modeling Communicate regularly with families, sharing progress, activities, and resources Ensure adherence to licensing, health, and safety regulations and YMCA policies Collaborate with YMCA colleagues to support program quality and community initiatives Promote YMCA core values and positive social-emotional development Organize classroom materials, schedules, and routines for smooth daily operations Participate in ongoing professional development and staff meetings Required Skills Early childhood curriculum planning Child development and observation Classroom management Parent and family communication Child assessment and documentation Knowledge of licensing and safety standards Team leadership and staff coordination Behavior guidance and social-emotional support Lesson planning and activity design Recordkeeping and basic computer skills
