Our mission is Love for God, Love for Children, Respect for One Another, and Ensuring Families the Best in Quality Childcare. Responsibilities Implement The Creative Curriculum, Trueway Kids, and the Maryland Early Learning Standards. Prepare intentional, play-based weekly lesson plans that support all areas of development and kindergarten readiness. Lead large-group, small-group, and individualized learning experiences. Maintain organized, labeled, engaging learning centers and current Documentation of Learning displays. Observe and assess children using anecdotal notes, work samples, photographs, checklists, and portfolios. Individualize instruction using assessment results, family input, and
IEP/IFSP
information when applicable. Complete progress reports and participate in parent-teacher conferences. Use positive guidance, redirection, and developmentally appropriate classroom-management strategies. Maintain active supervision, required ratios, hourly name-to-face attendance checks, and accurate classroom records. Communicate professionally with families through Procare and daily interactions. Follow all
MSDE/OCC
health, safety, sanitation, and licensing requirements. Participate in staff meetings, professional development, center events, classroom observations, and Maryland Accreditation activities. Required Qualifications Applicants must meet a degree-based Maryland Accreditation qualification pathway through one of the following: Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, or a related field; Current Maryland teaching certificate in Early Childhood Education; or Associate degree in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, or a related field combined with a qualifying Maryland Child Care Credential Level 5 or higher or another MSDE-accepted accreditation qualification.
Candidates must also:
Meet
MSDE/OCC
requirements to serve as a qualified Preschool Child Care Teacher. Have at least one year of preschool classroom experience. Hold or obtain pediatric First Aid and CPR certification. Complete all required background checks, clearances, and medical documentation. Be comfortable supporting Tree of Life's Christian mission and faith-based curriculum. Provide official transcripts and copies of all applicable credentials during the hiring process. Candidates possessing only the 90-hour Preschool Certification without a qualifying degree will not meet the requirements for this position.
