Supportive, family-oriented work environment Opportunities for professional growth and advancement On-the-job training and mentoring Flexible scheduling for college coursework Competitive pay based on education, credentials, and experience Position Requirements Applicants must: Be at least 19 years of age Be available to work Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM Be available for occasional after hours training or events Live within a reasonable commuting distance of Chelsea, Michigan Successfully complete all state-required background checks Hold current Pediatric CPR/First Aid certification or be willing to obtain it Candidates must also meet at least one of the following educational qualifications: Child Development Associate (CDA) Credential Montessori Credential Infant Family Associate Credential Associate degree or higher in any field In addition, candidates must have—or be willing to complete before starting—the required 9 MiRegistry training hours necessary to qualify as a Lead Teacher in a licensed Michigan child care center. What You'll Do As a Lead Teacher, you will: Create and implement engaging, developmentally appropriate lesson plans and classroom activities Foster a safe, nurturing, and inclusive learning environment Encourage learning through play, exploration, and hands-on experiences Support children's social, emotional, cognitive, and physical development Observe and document children's progress and developmental milestones Build positive relationships with families through regular communication Guide children in developing independence, confidence, and problem-solving skills Promote positive behavior using developmentally appropriate guidance techniques Maintain a clean, organized, and safe classroom that meets licensing and health standards Collaborate with fellow teachers and leadership to provide exceptional care and education What We're Looking For The ideal candidate will have: Experience working with young children in a licensed early childhood setting Strong classroom management and organizational skills A thorough understanding of child development and developmentally appropriate practices Excellent communication and interpersonal skills The ability to work independently while also contributing positively to a collaborative team Patience, flexibility, creativity, and a positive attitude A genuine passion for helping children learn, grow, and succeed Compensation Compensation is based on your educational qualifications, professional credentials, and relevant experience.
