Job Summary We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Medical Receptionist to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for providing exceptional front desk support in a fast-paced medical environment. This role requires strong organizational skills, experience with Athena EMR, and a commitment to patient service. The Medical Receptionist will play a crucial role in ensuring smooth operations within the clinic, managing patient interactions, and maintaining accurate medical records. Duties Greet patients and visitors warmly, ensuring a positive first impression of the clinic. Answering phones, some light triage, and collaboration with other staff and office providers Manage patient scheduling, including appointments, cancellations, and rescheduling. Handle incoming calls on multi-line phone systems with professionalism and courtesy. Verify patient insurance information and eligibility. Collect payments for services rendered and manage medical collections as needed. Maintain accurate medical records in compliance with HIPAA regulations. Utilize EMR Athenahealth, MCIR, and other platforms. Provide administrative support including filing, typing, copying, and general clerical tasks. Light office cleaning involved - dusting and sweeping. Collaborate with healthcare providers to ensure care plans are communicated effectively to patients. Maintaining clean desk space, showing up on time to work ready to work. Hospitality is key Experience Previous experience as a Medical Receptionist or in a similar medical office role is preferred. Familiarity with medical terminology and medication pronunciation is helpful. Experience using EHR systems Athenahealth is highly desired. Strong computer skills including proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite are required. Excellent phone etiquette and customer service skills are necessary for effective patient interactions. Prior experience in clinic or hospital settings is advantageous. Knowledge of health information management practices will be considered a plus.
