Job Description

Overview We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Parent/Tot Preschool Teacher to join our team. This individual guides interactive, dual-focus classes for toddlers that are 2 years of age by September 1, 2026 and their parents or caregivers, emphasizing bonding, early socialization, and child development. The ideal candidate will have experience working in a classroom setting.
Minimum Education and Experience:
Candidates must meet one of the following to qualify: Bachelor Degree or higher in early childhood education or related field Associate Degree in Early Childhood Education or related field Valid Child Development Associate credential Candidates must: have the ability to interact successfully with children, staff, and parents. have the ability to maintain confidentiality. preferably have preschool experience or early childhood coursework or training. have an understanding of child development. have the ability to have the NEW Michigan Child Care Background Check and fingerprints done and meet criminal history background requirements (requires FBI Fingerprints and SOARS clearance). have a demonstrated record of good attendance, punctuality, strong communication, and interpersonal skills.
Job Duties:
Facilitate Activities:
Lead joint sensory, music, art, and motor skill sessions for both adults and toddlers.
Coach Parents:
Model positive redirection, age-appropriate expectations, and early learning strategies for caregivers.
Prepare Environment:
Set up safe, clean, and engaging developmental stations prior to class.
Build Community:
Foster a welcoming, supportive group dynamic where parents can share experiences and support one another
Key Physical Functions:
Floor Work:
Sit, kneel, and squat frequently at child eye level
Lifting:
Lift and carry toddlers up to 40 pounds safely
Mobility:
Move rapidly from sitting to standing to ensure child safety
Stamina:
Maintain high energy during continuous physical play and demonstrations
Manual Dexterity:
Manipulate art supplies, musical instruments, and small learning toys
Visual/Auditory Awareness:
Monitor multiple parent-child pairs simultaneously for safety
