Hours:
Full-time school year 33 hours per week MWF 8:00- 3:45 TTh 8:00-12:00 & 3 hour planning
Compensation:
$18.00 - $20.00 per hour, depending on education experience and qualifications
Requirements:
Bachelors or Associate Degree in Child Development or related field Adhere to policies as outlined in the Staff Handbook Create a safe environment for each child and carry out proper procedures in the event of an emergency Relate well to children, co-workers, and parents Knowledge of children's physical, emotional and developmental patterns Create an atmosphere of appropriate guidance Meet the physical requirements of the position Experience in child care/classroom setting Current first aid & infant, child, adult CPR certification
Duties:
Greet each child and parent daily Participate actively with the children Demonstrate appropriate and reasonable behavior expectations Actively supervise outdoor play Support and maintain a clean and organized environment both indoors and out Remain aware of all children even when dealing with an individual child or small group Demonstrate flexibility in the classroom Create a positive and proactive partnership with parents Follow and meet licensing regulations and guidelines Complete professional development requirements of the position Implement HighScope curriculum in the classroom Completes developmentally appropriate weekly lesson plans and monthly newsletters Complete COR assessment for each student 2 times per year Mentor assistant teachers for professional growth and development
