The Children's Center is seeking an energetic and nurturing Preschool Assistant to help support early childhood educators by managing classrooms, supervision children, and facilitating age-appropriate activities. The Preschool Assistant will foster children's social, emotional, and intellectual development while ensuring a safe, nurturing, and clean environment. Qualifications and Requirements Must be at least (18) years of age. Previous classroom teaching experience (especially with HighScope) experience is strongly preferred. A valid CPR/First Aid certification. Compliance to complete Central Registry Clearance. Essential Functions and Representative Duties Under the direction of the Site Director, the Assistant Teacher is responsible for the following: Assist the lead teacher in implementing developmentally appropriate lesson plans and setting up learning centers. Maintain a positive, orderly, and inclusive classroom environment encourages curiosity and cooperative play. Maintain constant supervision of children both indoors and on the playground to prevent injuries. Guide individual children or small groups in activities, and reinforce concepts introduced by the teacher. Maintain strong communication, patience, crisis management, and the ability to foster a supportive learning environment. Maintain a clean, organized, and secure classroom environment with strictly following state licensing rules and center health policies. Apply positive behavior management techniques consistently to encourage social and emotional growth. Gather, compile, and prepare instructional materials (cutting, copying, laminating, and setting up equipment). Attend all staff meetings and other work related functions as required. Assist with students check in/out policies and procedures. Maintain confidentiality of information regarding all students. Willingness to complete 16 clock hours of annual professional development training and certification continuation in CPR/First Aid, and Blood Borne Pathogens. Work Environment Work is performed at Reid Elementary School and may include other facilities of the district. There is limited exposure to physical risk.

Monday thru Friday Approximately 25-30 hours per week
START DATE
2026-2027 school year. Paid orientation training available beginning of the school year.
COMPENSATION
$15.10 - 17.49 per hour, based on certification and degree plus years of experience in early childhood education.
