Job Description

Fun, energetic, caring individuals for child care positions. Preschool age 4-5 years old, located at the YMCA of Barry County on 2350 Iroquois Trail, Hastings.
Program hours:
8:00 am-4:00 pm, Wage is negotiable.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Build strong relationships with families and children. Follow all procedures, policies, and licensing standards. Provide a classroom environment that encourages the participation of all children. Plan parent conferences to discuss children's developmental progress. Create and carry out weekly plans and implement an age-appropriate curriculum that nurtures and stimulates all domains of each child's development.
QUALIFICATIONS
Lead Teachers must meet the GSRP qualifications upon hire. A Lead Teacher will be considered credentialed for the position with any of the following: A valid Michigan teaching certificate and an Early Childhood Education (ZA) or Early Childhood-General and Special Education (ZS) endorsement, Birth-K, or PK-3 endorsement; or A bachelor's degree in early childhood education or child development with a specialization in preschool teaching. The transcript will document a major, rather than a minor, in child development or early childhood education: or A Bachelor's degree in elementary teaching with a valid Preschool CDA; or For Montessori only: A bachelor's degree in any subject and completed training through a Montessori Primary (age 3-6) certification program affiliated with the Montessori accreditation Council for Teacher Education (MACTE), the Association Montessori International (AMI), or the American Montessori Society (AMS)
Completion of:
Required trainings, such as Child Abuse Prevention and others; CPR; First Aid; AED; Bloodborne Pathogens; and complete a drug test. Fulfillment of state-specific hiring standards, pass the criminal history background and fingerprinting process and completion of YMCA program specific certifications.
