A Preschool or Childcare Teacher works with young children, usually ages 3 - 5, to help them learn the social, motor and language skills needed to be ready for kindergarten and elementary school. Organizes activities and uses play or games to help children learn; develops schedules and routines for children that include exercise and rest. Works in a school or in a childcare center or program.

AM School-Year/Part-Time Qualifications:
Background Check :
Must pass a criminal background check through the Michigan State Police and the FBI to ensure suitability for working with children. (Registration in the CCBC System)
CPR and First Aid Certification :
Must have current certification in CPR and First Aid Willingness to participate in
Annual Training :
Ongoing professional development is required, including training on child abuse and neglect, and other relevant topics (e.g., child development, safety, and emergency procedures).
Job Responsibilities Provide Supervision :
Ensure the safety and well-being of children during the two-hour before care period Engage in
Activities :
Lead age-appropriate activities (games, crafts, reading, etc.) to keep children engaged and active.
Morning Routines :
Assist children with settling in, organizing personal items, and following a morning routine.
Promote Positive Behavior :
Foster a positive, respectful, and inclusive environment while managing behavior and conflicts. Contact parents with behavior concerns. Communication with
Parents :
Greet parents upon drop-off/pick-up, and provide brief updates if necessary regarding the child's well-being. Collaborate with
School Staff :
Coordinate with school staff to ensure a smooth transition for children to the regular school day.
Maintain Cleanliness :
Help maintain a clean, organized, and safe space for children.
Follow Policies and Procedures :
Adhere to all school policies, health regulations, and safety protocols.
Payroll & Invoicing:
Monitor and document staff and student attendance, reporting weekly numbers as needed.

Repetitive motions : Making substantial movements (motions) of the wrists, hands, and/or fingers. The worker is subject to environmental conditions. The worker should provide consistent and reliable in person attendance.
