$15.00-$16.50 per hour Job type: Part-time and relief opportunities Work location: In person About the position The Learning Park Child Care is seeking experienced, dependable caregivers for our family child care home in Inkster. We are looking for people who enjoy working with children, provide patient and attentive care, communicate honestly, and take safety seriously. You should be comfortable following established routines, helping children through everyday challenges, and completing care responsibilities without repeated reminders. Starting pay is based on verified child care experience, relevant training, and demonstrated skills. Available coverage periods We are accepting applications for coverage within these periods:

Daytime:

7:30 AM-5:00 PM Evening and evening relief: 5:00

PM-midnight Overnight:

Midnight-6:00 AM, with possible earlier start times by agreement Applicants may be considered for one or more coverage periods. You do not need to be available for every shift or for an entire coverage period. Shorter shifts may be considered when they meet program needs. These are part-time and relief positions. Weekly days and hours may vary based on coverage needs and your agreed availability. Specific schedules and any guaranteed hours will be discussed before hiring. Additional shifts may be offered when coverage is needed. Please provide the exact days and times you can reliably work. Responsibilities Maintain attentive supervision and know where each child is at all times. Provide age-appropriate feeding, diapering, toileting, rest, and other daily care. Follow safe-sleep practices, individual care instructions, sanitation procedures, and emergency plans. Engage children in reading, conversation, creative play, and age-appropriate learning activities. Respond calmly and respectfully to crying, distress, disagreements, and challenging behavior. Follow the program's positive-guidance and discipline policies. Maintain clean and organized child care areas while keeping supervision the priority. Complete attendance records, care notes, incident documentation, and shift handoffs accurately. Communicate concerns promptly and follow required reporting procedures. Follow authorized-pickup procedures and protect children's and families' privacy. Arrive ready for scheduled shifts and communicate promptly about attendance concerns. Keep personal phone use from interfering with supervision and care. Participate in orientation, required training, and performance feedback. Required qualifications Verifiable child care experience in a daycare, preschool, professional nanny role, or comparable setting. Experience appropriate to the ages of children assigned to your care. CPR certification covering infants, children, and adults, and pediatric first-aid certification, current before providing care. Ability to meet Michigan child care background-check, training, and employment requirements. Ability to read and follow written procedures and complete basic electronic documentation. Professional references who can describe your child care work. Reliable transportation to and from the workplace. Willingness to follow established procedures, accept feedback, and report concerns or mistakes promptly. Preferred qualifications Completed child care health and safety training with supporting records. MiRegistry training documentation. Experience caring for infants, toddlers, and mixed-age groups.
