Job Description
Overview We are seeking a dedicated and energetic Infant Afternoon Assistant to join our childcare team. In this vital role, you will provide nurturing, attentive care to infants during the afternoon hours, supporting their developmental needs and ensuring a safe, engaging environment. Your positive attitude and commitment to early childhood development will help foster a loving space where little ones can thrive. Responsibilities Supervise and care for infants, ensuring their safety and well-being throughout the afternoon shift Engage infants in age-appropriate activities that promote sensory exploration, motor skills, and social development Follow established routines for feeding, diapering, nap times, and hygiene to support healthy growth Maintain a clean, organized, and safe classroom environment in compliance with health and safety regulations Communicate effectively with parents about their child's day, progress, and any concerns or observations Implement behavior management strategies that foster positive interactions and emotional security Assist with classroom management tasks such as preparing materials and supporting team members in daily routines Requirements Prior experience working with infants or young children in daycare, preschool, or childcare settings Knowledge of child development principles and age-specific needs of infants Certification in First Aid and CPR (Pediatric First Aid preferred) to ensure emergency preparedness Familiarity with special education practices and working with children with disabilities is a plus Strong communication skills for effective parent interaction and team collaboration Ability to follow mandated reporting laws related to child safety and welfare Classroom experience in early childhood education or daycare centers is highly desirable Demonstrated ability to manage behavior positively while maintaining a nurturing environment Join us if you're passionate about fostering early childhood development and creating joyful, safe spaces for infants.
