The Classroom Support Associate may work in several capacities depending on where services are required. Responsible for assisting the classroom staff in providing nurturing care to the children and assisting in successfully developing the emotional, physical, social, and intellectual growth of children. The responsibilities may vary during the preschool day. The Classroom Support Associate will adhere to the State of Michigan licensing requirements, Head Start Performance Standards and/or PreK for All (GSRP) Implementation Manual. The Classroom Support Associate will work Monday through Thursday, and some Fridays for training. Must be professional and maintain confidentiality at all times.

Qualifications:

High School Diploma or GED Child Development Associate (CDA) Certificate is preferred Prior experience working in a preschool environment is preferred The ability to work and communicate effectively with parents and young children. Successful pre-employment physical exam, LARA screening and criminal records background check.

Essential Functions:

Reports to the office staff for daily job responsibility assignments. Maintains the established routines and procedures in the preschool classrooms. Ability to work with young children in a preschool setting. Works effectively as a member of the Early Childhood Center team to educate children, engage families, enhance school readiness, and provide for a safe, secure, and nurturing environment.
