- Our Preschool Lead Teacher will be responsible for creating a warm, engaging, organized, and developmentally appropriate classroom environment where children feel safe, valued, and excited to learn.
The teacher will plan and implement experiences using The Creative Curriculum , observe and document children's development, and utilize Teaching Strategies GOLD to assess children's progress and help guide individualized instruction. This is a full-time position .
Responsibilities Include:
Creating a safe, nurturing, engaging, and developmentally appropriate preschool classroom Planning and implementing lessons and learning experiences using The Creative Curriculum Using Teaching Strategies GOLD to observe, document, assess, and support children's development Providing child-initiated, child-directed, and teacher-supported learning opportunities Encouraging learning through play, exploration, process art, small-group experiences, outdoor play, and hands-on activities Supporting children's social-emotional development and helping children develop positive relationships and problem-solving skills Maintaining appropriate classroom routines, expectations, and supervision Completing required documentation and classroom responsibilities in a timely and professional manner Communicating positively and professionally with families Working collaboratively with assistant teachers, fellow teachers, and administration Maintaining a clean, organized, welcoming classroom environment Following all Bedford Child Development Center policies and State of Michigan childcare licensing requirements Participating in staff meetings, professional development, and ongoing training Required Qualifications Applicants must meet all of the following requirements to be considered: CDA credential or higher education/credential in Early Childhood Education or a related field Minimum of two years of experience teaching preschool-age children Experience using The Creative Curriculum Experience using Teaching Strategies GOLD Strong understanding of developmentally appropriate practices for preschool-age children Ability to plan and lead a preschool classroom confidently and independently Strong communication, organization, and teamwork skills Dependable, professional, and committed to providing consistent care for children Willingness to complete all State of Michigan required background checks, health requirements, and childcare training requirements Who We Are Looking For
