Qualifications & Licensing Requirements (MN DHS) To meet Minnesota Department of Human Services (DHS) Child Care Licensing requirements, candidates must: Be at least 18 years of age Meet all MN DHS background study requirements Demonstrate the ability to actively supervise children and safely perform job duties, including lifting, bending, standing, and engaging in classroom activities Have a strong understanding of, or willingness to learn, MN DHS licensing rules and best practices Preferred (but not required): Coursework or degree in Early Childhood Education or a related field CDA or previous experience working in a licensed childcare setting Accredited College Semester Credits (Numerous classes count toward the credits required as a Teacher) Experience with play-based or child-led curriculum We welcome candidates who are eager to grow , learn, and advance within the field of early childhood education while maintaining compliance with MN DHS licensing standards.
