Piano Teacher & Music Educator Anderson Piano Academy is a growing music school in Rochester, Minnesota, dedicated to helping students develop a joyful, healthy, and lifelong relationship with music. We are looking for an enthusiastic piano teacher and music educator to join our teaching team. We believe great music education should meet students where they are. Some of our students dream of competitions, advanced repertoire, and pursuing music at a high level. Others want piano to be a meaningful part of a life that also includes sports, theater, church, school, and other activities. Our goal is to help each student become a confident, capable musician while building a genuine love of music. About the Position This is a flexible, part-time independent contractor position with the opportunity to build a teaching schedule that fits your availability. We are open to someone who wants to teach just a few hours each week as well as someone interested in developing a substantial teaching schedule. Anderson Piano Academy provides the students, teaching space, pianos, scheduling systems, recitals, and administrative support so our teachers can focus on what they do best: teaching music. The position is available immediately, although we are happy to work with the right candidate on a reasonable start date. What You'll Do Teach engaging piano lessons to children and/or adults Help students develop strong technique, musicianship, music-reading, listening, and practice skills Adapt instruction to the age, personality, goals, and learning style of each student Help students prepare for recitals and other musical opportunities Communicate effectively and positively with students and families Create a welcoming environment where students are challenged, supported, and excited to learn Depending on your experience and interests, opportunities may also be available to teach young children, group classes, musicianship, or other areas of music education. Who We're Looking For We would love to meet musicians and educators who: Are strong pianists with a solid understanding of music fundamentals Genuinely enjoy working with children Are warm, encouraging, dependable, and professional Can balance high-quality instruction with making lessons enjoyable Are comfortable adapting their teaching to different students and goals Communicate well with both students and parents Want to be part of a collaborative music education community A degree in music, music education, piano performance, or a related field is preferred, but we are also interested in candidates with significant piano, teaching, accompanying, performing, or music education experience. Schedule Teaching takes place at Anderson Piano Academy in Rochester, Minnesota. This position is intentionally flexible. Instructors may take on a small teaching schedule or build a larger schedule depending on their availability and interests. Most student demand occurs during after-school and evening hours, with additional opportunities at other times. Why Teach at Anderson Piano Academy?
